| Although I'm competitive, I avoid it as much as possible. Why work hard to overcome your competitor when you can just cruise to victory by removing the X factor altogether? It's about playing smart, not necessarily playing hard. I apply this philosophy to my dating life as well. Why bring a better looking and/or better resume single friend with you to "the feast" when you can be the only tempting dish on the table? | | |
| Crippled by MTA...
Who needs terrorists when there are unions?
Today, NYC experienced a freezing winter day by walking to and from work. We can thank the president of TWU (a name I will not mention b/c he deserves no recognition) for his unreasonable, selfish and illegal decision to go on strike for the "unborn."
Perhaps I am taking this strike more personally than I would normally, but there is a reason. I had planned for a gathering tonight with close friends; a holiday gathering if you will. To prepare for this gathering, I went shopping yesterday for gifts. Went home to wrap each gifts as oppose to paying the professional wrappers. After three hours and a 21 sq ft roll of wrapping paper later, I finished with what I have sworn to never attempt again. Because of the strike, I brought all of the gifts to work with me so that I didn't have to return home before the gathering. About an hour before the meeting, everyone cancelled b/c of lack of adequate transportation. Bah!
....I need a drink to end a day of freezing weather, crazy commute, and horrible PMS...
Happy holidays, everyone.

| Update...
I'm super busy, but want to outline the major happenings since the last entry:
1) S and I are over as predicted. I'm sad that it didn't work out for us, but I hope there will be a second opportunity down the road for us. It's so hard to find someone you can argue and bicker with everytime you hang out...strange foreplay, but keeps my interest...
2) V and I went out on one date and chatted on the phone a few times. She's a nice, sweet, responsible, caring woman...I don't think she's my type...
3) Met L last Wednesday, and found out on Fri that she's psychotic...smart, but insane...no thanks
4) Last night, met three guys with names starting with the letter P. One is an older mentor-like lawyer, so I won't even go there. The other two are up for competition. Yes, my summer dating blitz has officially expanded to men b/c sometimes I just feel like a nut...no pun intended. Here's the lowdown on the two Ps: PH is a sr. assoc at a biglaw in midtown (right down the street from where I work...how convenient), he is very nice and has a sweet sense of humor (we all know how this one will end up...); PA is a jr. assoc at a biglaw in midtown as well, he's the silent stud type that got my attention by just standing there (can we say nooners?)... We've exchanged cards, so let's see if I can get either one of them to bite...
Y'all have a good Fourth!

| Outing #3 and 4...
I started my Pride celebration a little early this year. Went out to a couple of bars over the weekend. There was drama at the first bar when my friend ran into her ex and her ex's new girl. Needless to say that threw the celebrating spirit out the door. The second bar was drama free. I met a cute woman, V, there. We chatted for most of the night. I thought there might be a little drama since S was there too and S saw that I got picked up (note: S and I are not exclusive). Luckily, everyone was sober enough to be well behaved. I drove S home to make sure she was alright with the whole situation (I don't think S and I are compatible even for casual dating, so I'd be surprised if we continue this beyond Pride weekend).
More to come after Pride...

| Update...
So my summer dating blitz got sidetracked. S and I are dating. Next week, we're moving in together...well, at least that's according to the standard lesbian relationship timeline. S and I are doing well, but our jadedness is getting the best of both of us. I need to stay focused on the dating blitz agenda and keep looking in case things don't work out for S and me (conscious effort to not use "us"...).
With that said, I will be at Cattyshack tonight to celebrate Brooklyn Pride with friends. It should be wild....I plan on making it wild. If you're in the area, come out! I'll be the straight-looking Asian chick with long hair doing body shots and dancing on the bar...until the bouncers force me down... I would be very impressed if anyone from Xanga comes up to say, "Hi Wutisay!" Drinks will be on me!
